This is a full time position in our Papanui store.

In this role you will:

  • Work with the Proprietor to set targets and to ensure the departments overall sales, gross profit and targets are reached
  • Manage the department in the Proprietor’s absence
  • Assist the Proprietor to manage and develop employees through training, coaching and performance management
  • Assist the Proprietor to manage and implement promotions, events and advertising
  • Gain full knowledge of all roles in the department and cover where required
  • Ensure the operations and administration of the department is maintained – including credit claims, debtors, stock ordering, purchase orders, stock returns and more
  • Work a rotating roster which will include weekends & public holidays as required by the Business.

 The skills and experience you’ll need to bring with you include:

  • Relevant consumer electronics retail management experience (at least 2 years)
  • Proven sales ability in a solution-selling environment
  • Proven sales coaching ability
  • Relevant business tertiary education qualifications  (preferable)
  • Thorough knowledge of the products sold in the Computers department
  • Technically savvy with the ability to solve problems quickly
  • Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to think on your feet
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ambitious and Confident
  • Numeracy skills and ability to work out calculations such as gross profit
  • Ability to read and understand sales reports
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Knowledge in NZ Law in relation to retail – Fair Trading Act / Consumer Guarantees Act
  • Mature outlook to be able to understand the needs and drivers of the Business.
  • Fun, friendly, outgoing, down to earth, approachable and work well as a team member.
